What Child Is This?

Last week: It was KATIE who made velociraptor noises throughout dinner

This week:Requires sound machine, ipod playing, total darkness from blackout curtains and absolutely nobody can go up or down the stairs for fear of them squeaking and waking this wrathful child!

    Hey Wade (and Jen),
I used to go to Mary Queen of Peace with your family, Wade, and while I am nowhere near close to your intended demographic, I absolutely love your podcasts. My mom and I used to sing in choir with you and Jodi and you were actually my brother’s (Kyle) sponsor back when we were doing confirmation.

That being said, I have a different viewpoint on the fact that you guys are having a little girl after Jake. My brother is 16 months older than me, which from what I can tell is very similar to how far apart your babies will be. I do not always get along with my brother, but having one that is that close to my age is actually very nice. We have a lot of the same friends here in college, but he still looks out for me everywhere we go. This past school year, we even lived together in a little apartment right off of campus.

My mom has always said that I was the better baby, too! Having kids this close together makes it a lot easier because I always had someone to play with and I loved to just lay around and watch Kyle when I was a baby. And as I grew up, I loved to run around with my brother and his friends and catch crawdads and all that boy stuff that Jen says she loves to do. You don’t need to deck her out in tutus and hair bows. Maybe some pink here and there, though, just so people know!

As for Jen being afraid of raising a girl, I have a feeling you guys will do great. I talk to Katie every once in awhile and she is an absolutely amazing person. You will always have troubles with kids at the teenager age, but it always works out in the end, especially when he/she is raised by such supportive and involved parents as you two seem to be.

    Good luck!

    • Hiya Rachael! Thanks so much for the comment and kind words. We’re looking forward to little Nellie and I think you’re right–she and Jake will be great together! Shouldn’t you be studying or something?

Oh shush! I have to procrastinate some way or my head would explode. Wouldn’t you rather I be browsing your blog and Facebook than, say, robbing a bank to put off studying?! Besides, I only have 1 more week till the summer classes are over!
